Valentine’s Day is around the corner. That means there is a good chance you will be buying a gift or two for that someone special in your life in the near future. When shopping for your boo, why not consider a few gifts that are Made in the U.S.A.? Here are a few Valentine’s Day gift ideas you might want to consider.
Perfume or Cologne – You might not have realized it, but there are several top selling brands of perfume and cologne that are made in the U.S.A., such as DKNY, Polo, Euphoria, Guess, and Safari. For a great selection of American-made fragrances click here.
Lingerie – Believe it or not, there is some really beautiful (and dare I say, sexy) lingerie that is made in the U.S.A. There is a company called Hanky Panky has been making their ladies’ delicates in the U.S.A. since 1977, and their stuff is top of the line. You’d be hard pressed to find nicer lingerie anywhere. They also sell all kinds of thongs, panties, and sleepwear. Check it out. Hanky Panky is the best kept secret in lingerie.
Chocolates – There are lots of American-made chocolate and candy makers out there, but here is one of my favorites. Bissinger’s has been making fine French style confection chocolates in St. Louis since 1927. They also have an amazing assortment of Valentine’s Day boxes that are really perfect for a Valentine’s Day gift. If your heartthrob has a sweet tooth, you can’t beat Bissinger’s.
Champagne (Sparkling Wine) – Okay, technically it is impossible to buy American-made Champagne because for a bottle of bubbly to be called Champagne, it must come from the Champagne region in France. But that doesn’t mean you can’t buy American-made sparkling wine which is a virtually identical product, and just as enjoyable to share with your Valentine. Here is a list of the top 10 rated American sparkling wines. A really great bottle can be had for around $30. You can buy some American-made sparkling wine at All American Winery, a vendor that specializes in American wines.
Until next time, here’s to doing what we can to support our country by buying American.
